В данной статье излагается о том, как ложные представления, мифы и стереотипы, сложившиеся в обществе в отношении психических больных, приводят к их дискриминации, затрудняют их социальную адаптацию и снижают качество жизни. Нередко подобная стигматизация превращается во вторую болезнь, которая может быть для больных тяжелее, чем само психическое расстройство. Описывается, как стигматизации подвергаются кроме больных их родственники, врачи-психиатры и психиатрическая служба. Описываются истоки происхождения стигматизации и возможные пути ее смягчения.
This article describes how to misconceptions, myths and stereotypes in society for mental patients, lead to discrimination against them, impede their social adaptation and reduce the quality of life. Often such a stigma turns into the second disease that can be for patients heavier than itself a mental disorder.
