Planned 2024, No. 3 Contemporary medical technologies offer ample opportunities for improving surgical care on the basis of novel diagnostic and treatment methods. The search for innovative solutions in this field requires a comprehensive and interdisciplinary understating of such problems, as standardization of surgical procedures and management of their quality, safety, and risk. Among the topical issues of professional discussions are how to standardize surgical techniques, whether the quality and safety of surgical interventions can be assessed, which factors have a significant impact on the development of complications, and what role different participants of the treatment process play. The present thematic issue of Kuban Scientific Medical Bulletin invites professionals in the field of emergency and elective surgery to discuss the above problems and share their valuable experience. We particularly welcome proposals that address the following questions:
