Hypertrophic osteoarthropathy as a paraneoplastic syndrome in a patient with peripheral lung cancer: a case report

Abstract

The hypertrophic osteoarthropathy (HOA) may occur as isolated finding or is often part of the syndrome which is characterized by periostosis of the long bones and occasional painful joint enlargement. The majority of cases of HOA are due to malignant thoracic tumors. The authors present a case of hypertrophic osteoarthropathy as a paraneoplastic syndrome in a patient with peripheral lung cancer.
